We are sad to announce that another life supporter is no longer with us.  On Saturday, October 31, 2020, at the age of 89, Robert (Guppy) Blake of Staples, Minnesota, passed away.  Bob was born on February 8, 1931, in Wadena Minnesota, and was raised on a family farm in Cass County, MN.  After graduating from Motley High School in 1949, he served in the US Air Force from 1952 until retiring after twenty and a half years.  Part of his career was spent at Area 51 in the sixties and Edwards AFB with the U-2s until his retirement in 1972.  After moving back to Motley, he worked at Morey’s and was the afternoon manager at the El Ray Café.  He then worked full time with the US Postal Service in Brainerd, MN.  Bob retired from the Post Office after twenty years of service in 2000.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #0124 since 1973, served on the Swan Valley Church Council, and also served as an usher.  He and his bride, Junette had been members of Faith Lutheran Church in Staples since 2002.

Bob loved the outdoors, enjoyed gardening, and dearly loved his family and country.  Bob suffered a stroke in 2002 and enjoyed and loved his aphasia group in St. Cloud.

He was predeceased in death by his parents, Harding Blake and Gladys Blake (Marvin).  He is survived by his wife Junette Hagenson; his sons, Bruce, Gary (Kelly) and Kent (Mary); his grandchildren, Anthony (Holly), Andrea, Aslyn (Nick), Amara, Tina (Aaron) and Ashley (Matt); and his brother Charles. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
