Bruno made my career!
I first met Bruno in 1973 when I was a new Captain, the 63MAW wing EWO weenie and given the additional job as 63maw Life Support Officer. I checked in to the Life Support office that at the time consisted of 8 GI s and 4 civilians. I immediately spoke to Bruno, opening my mouth announcing we need to make some changes.
BRUNO then said say Captain how many bars to you have. I pointed out I had two bars. Bruno immediately announced and pointed out ” Look I have 6 strips so I I out rank you now sit down and listen”. That was the BEST career advice I will receive in all my years’ of both military and civilian service. My career in the AF advanced because of what BRUNO taught me while i worked for him:). we kept in touch for the next 50+ years.
