Career Field Narratives and Stories

Here are personalized histories or stories of something important in the military life of  AFE/ALS members that have been sent to me. You are encouraged to send in your narrative or story for others to enjoy reading.  Think of it as your official “story of service,” covering such things as:

  • Your AFSC history (e.g., 62250 Life Support / AFE)
  • Bases, units, and assignments
  • Key missions, responsibilities, and accomplishments
  • Training, certifications, and special duties
  • Awards, decorations, and promotions
  • Memorable events, deployments, or career milestones
  • People you served with
  • How your career evolved over time
  • An incident that happened during your Life Support career

The narrative serves two purposes:

  1. Preserving Your Legacy

It becomes a permanent record of something important in your Air Force career that future generations can access.

  1. Honoring the Career Field

AFE, Life Support, Survival Equipment, Personal Equipment — all of these have deep heritage. The narrative helps preserve that history through individual stories.

If you like, you can write it in a first‑person, reflective style, something like:

“I entered the Air Force in 1974 as a 92250 Life Support Specialist. My first assignment was at Ellsworth AFB supporting missile field operations…”

It’s not meant to be formal military documentation — it’s meant to be your story, told your way.
