MSgt (Ret) George L Anderson
January 8, 1953 ~ August 12, 2023 (age 70)
George L Anderson, retired MSgt, passed into eternal rest on August 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family: Letty, his wife of 50 years; daughter, Angela; grandchildren, Jessica and Andrew; and his beloved pets.
George was a great American Patriot. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and later continued a second career as a Civil Servant.
George joined his Heavenly family at the age of 70. He was a dedicated worker and family man. George loved talking and meeting new people, and he had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed cooking and dancing but most of all, he loved the Dallas Cowboys!

Obituary for George L Anderson | Alamogordo Funeral Home
I remember George accidently coming into my office at the 479th TAC Training Wing at Holloman to report for work. His orders were for one of the fighter squadrons We were desperate for skilled NCOs. I do not remember how I did it, but I was able to have George assigned to our Wing. I retired in 1980 but I heard from a couple of NCOs that George was doing great work at Holloman.
So very sorry to hear of his passing way too early in his life. Condolences to his entire family.

The passing of George hit me like a brick. I had no idea my friend had passed and that he’d been gone since August of this year. Andy, as he was so fondly called worked for me at Holloman AFB and was instrumental in turning the Life Support shop into a showcase as an active-duty Sgt, SSgt, TSgt, MSgt, and as a civil service employee.
When I left Holloman in 1979, I recommended Andy as my replacement, and he proved to be the perfect choice; he made me proud of him and his accomplishments. His unit along with a great supportive cast went on to win the TAC HQ Outstanding Unit of the Year Awards three times in a row from 1979 – 1981 and Andy had a lot to do with those wins.
I kept in contact with Andy over the years and always loved our reminiscing about when he first came to Holloman AFB. My condolences to Andy’s family and to all who knew him. Rest in peace, my friend.
