Following his military retirement, he worked for C.R. England Trucking, GMAC, and Swift Transportation before retiring for a second time in 2016.
Dave fell in the kitchen at his home and hit his head. He had a massive brain bleed as a result and died two days later. He always looked forward to our newsletters.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda; his daughters, Christine Wilson of Austin, Texas, and Jennifer Wilson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; granddaughters, Katie Wilson and Shayna Trujillo (Izaiah); grandson, Robert T Call II; great-grandchildren, Cali and Camila Rodriguez and Oaklynn and Oliver Trujillo.

Dave was a devoted grandfather enjoying many good times with them. The role of grandpa and great grandpa was the highlight of his life, whether it was playing Santa at Christmas time or playing games. His smiles and hugs will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leo and Betty Jo Wilson, and by his sister, Nancy Wilson.
Dave never met a stranger. He enjoyed visiting with his long-time neighbors of nearly 40 years, but most of all, he loved his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life, blessed with his smiles and unconditional love. May he rest in peace.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church, 4001 Osuna NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:00 am with a reception immediately to follow.
